art and statues and things

I thought today would be a good time to mention some big news:

One of my paintings, "After the Fire" has been selected to hang in the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery in Barnsdall Park as part of their 2008 juried show. This is a HUGE honor and I want to invite anyone in the LA area to the opening party to be held Sunday, Aug. 3 from 2-5 PM.

If you live in LA and have never been to Barnsdall Park it's a really lovely piece of LA history:

" This unique park, which offers breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign, is also home to the Junior Arts Center and the famous Hollyhock House that was designed in the 1920's by the internationally acclaimed architect Frank Lloyd Wright."

blog love

I'm finding out about some really great blogs just by using Google Alerts to see who's talkin about me.

Thanks to Paper and Stitch and Yes, please! blogs for mentioning my Fighting Geese print and my Rain Girl shirt (which is on sale right now for only $15)!

hooded ladies

As promised, a double-dose of moleskine for today. Would you believe me if I told you that they were done independent of one another and I didn't even notice that they are both hooded ladies until just now seeing them side by side? What am I saying?

I also wanted to give a special thanks to the Design for Mankind blog for mentioning my "bed land" print at Little Paper Planes!

little paper planes in my life

The time has finally come! I am pleased to announce that I have released a few limited edition prints to be sold via Little Paper Planes!

Bed Land

Fighting Geese

In The Corner

I couldn't be happier with the quality of the prints as well as the fact that they are printed on archival paper made from sustainable resources. I'm also extremely happy to be working with Kelly Lynn Jones who runs Little Paper Planes as I am quite a fan of her work as well as her shop. Happy shopping!

Sorry my sketchbook post is late this week. Adjusting to new schedules and such. Today I'm having lots of people I love come over to hang out and eat and drink. I'm excited. Happy 4th of July!
