Half Asleep
Since there doesn't seem to be much art happening this weekend perhaps I'll dig up some of my own to post next week.

Officially
This was my favorite piece from the Sean Cassidy show at New Image. Mmm wood.
The Richard Colman show at MK blew my expectations. Although I don't have a good photo, the ink on paper works were full of awesome. May I please make awesome a noun so that I can use that phrase officially? Can I just adjust the English language to suit my bad grammar? Officially?

Thursday for another hour and 15 min.
The little drawing above was featured on this site.
In other news, I have in fact opened an Etsy shop. Currently I only have a couple paintings up but I plan on adding more as well as some drawings over the weekend and next week. I'll post announcements when I add stuff. We'll see how it goes!

Those Who Do Not Remember the Past...
So last Sat. night I hit Culver City for the supposed gallery insanity. Among the many shows going on was the Andrew Brandou show at Corey Helford which totally struck my fancy. It may have had something to do with the free polaroid photo booth...
As usual, I couldn't help but dash across Washington Blvd. to Project to see what was going on. Here's is what was going on:
Nate Frizzell
Derek Albeck
Rebecca Artemisa Urias (could not find website) and Edwin Ushiro.
-Sorry about the bad quality of the photo I'll do better next time promise!

here comes the self-promotion
My new shirts are up at Blood is the New Black and some of my older designs as well. Everyone's work is great and I know I'm snatching up a bunch of stuff for presents. Mostly presents for myself but some other lucky folks as well.

trying to keep it up

planet of the art geeks
This is a piece from Amanda Visell from Copro Nason's opening this weekend. The show was definitely rockabilly themed and it was cute to see all the rockabilly kids come out.
I totally got confused about the time of the Rachel Sumpter show and missed the opening. crap.
Unrelated, I have decided to open an online shop via Etsy (because as we know I don't have enough projects going on). Last night I rather hastily put the shop up but there isn't anything for sale yet. The idea is to make my original work available to more people and in addition I plan on making some more affordable print sets and also sell copies of my zine. This is an experiment of sorts. We'll see how it goes. Any feedback on this idea would be much appreciated.

If I Can Make it There...
The trip was too short but it's good to be home. The Jewish partying did not disappoint and although I don't think I gained 5 lbs. as hoped on eating yummy NYC food I can honestly say it was worth the try!
Ran into this in the LES:
I was able to catch the show at the Jonathan Levine Gallery on Sat. night. If I'm not mistaken this is Tara McPherson checking out an Andrew Foster painting.
So glad I got to see one of these in person by Adam Wallacavage.
I liked some of the Mars 1 stuff because the wireframe elements reminded me of CG 3d (which is the other kind of geeky art I do as my day job).
It was crowded and hot and smelly at the show but the art was interesting and going to this show made me miss going to shows in NYC.
